LAW OF COSINES: used with SSS and SAS.
the first example (SAS) - you can plug the entire right side in all at once - and then take the square root. only 2 steps.
the second example (SSS) - you need to do it in multiple steps - shown in the problem - grouped with the red pen.

cross multiply and then solve - when you are looking for an angle - remember to use second sin (sin negative one) in the last step
